Earth Day 2022 at Franklin Park Zoo

On Earth Day, April 22, our Superfund Research Center Community Engagement Core in Boston attended Franklin Park Zoo’s annual Party for the Planet. CEC staff were joined by Harvard Chan School students, post-docs and NIEHS Center staff to provide an interactive booth about water safety and filtration. Children were invited to make a coffee filter flower craft and run experiments with a water filter demonstration. Some children even used the available materials to build their own and test their hypothesis about what makes for an effective water filter! All elements of our booth were recycled, recyclable, or biodegradable. The event hosted over 10,000 visitors!
