Dr. Fang-Ching Sun Memorial Award

The award is in memory of Dr. Fang-Ching Sun, MPH ’84, who had a brief but exemplary career improving the health and well-being of underserved populations in the rural mountains of his native Taiwan. The award was established by Dr. Sun’s family, friends and classmates at HSPH and Chung-Shan Medical School in Taiwan. The award honors an outstanding graduating student who has demonstrated a commitment to promoting the health of vulnerable people.

Eligibility

Any student graduating in November 2023, March 2024, or May 2024 is eligible.

Students may be nominated for the award by faculty members, staff, or other students. Self-nominations are not accepted.

Nomination

Nominations should include the following information:

  • A brief statement of why you are nominating the student and how the student has demonstrated a commitment to promoting the health of vulnerable people
  • A copy of the student’s resume
  • Any other information that you think would be helpful to the committee
  • Self-nominations are not accepted.

Selection

A committee of Harvard Chan faculty and staff selects the Sun Award winner based on nominations.
