Accreditation

Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH), an independent agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education to accredit schools of public health and public health programs.

Harvard Chan has been accredited since 1946. The School was last granted re-accreditation by CEPH in October of 2017, and this accreditation status extends to December 2024. The Harvard Chan Final Self Study from April 2017 aligned with the 2011 criteria and can be found here.

In the Fall of 2022, the school will begin the process of preparing for our next accreditation self-study and site visit scheduled to take place during Fall 2024.  The school will be assessed using CEPH’s 2021 Accreditation Criteria and Procedures (see below). The Office of Education will be leading the accreditation process, with the guidance of an Accreditation Steering Committee comprised of leadership from across the school. This process will also include a variety of stakeholders including faculty, students, staff, alumni, and external community representatives to ensure broad representation in the self-assessment process.
