Lorna is a Senior Learning Designer in the Learning Design and Instructional Support group. She earned her BA in Earth and Planetary Sciences from the Johns Hopkins University; an MFS from Yale University; and an ALM from the Harvard Extension School in Digital Media Design.
Lorna worked many years in technical and educational publishing, including editing for Wolters Kluwer and serving as Managing Editor for Oak Ridge Associated Universities. She taught at the college level while raising two children. Her tenures as Visiting Faculty at North Shore Community College and Salem State University informed her work with adult learners. She taught biology, anatomy and physiology, and nutrition. She gained further expertise in health- and nutrition-related pedagogy while serving as Content Developer for Pearson Higher Education, where she oversaw their Mastering portfolios in health and nutrition.
In her spare time, Lorna loves to bake, paint, garden, listen to podcasts, and play with her dog.
