In the economically vulnerable population studied in the HAALSA project, cash transfers (received in mid- to later-life) are linked with slower memory decline and lower dementia probability scores. This study, published in PNAS, provides evidence that cash transfers could be an effective intervention to help “stem the tide of new dementia cases” in a vulnerable population.
