Alexandra Killewald is professor of sociology at Harvard University. Her research takes a demographic approach to the study of social stratification. Much of Killewald’s work focuses on the work-family intersection, with a special interest in wealth inequality, and the role of parents’ wealth in shaping the outcomes of their adult children. She has also explored the effects of marriage and parenthood on workers’ wages, and the associations between women’s earnings and their time in household labor. She is the co-author of “Is American Science in Decline?” Killewald serves on the HCPDS Social Demography Seminar planning committee.
