The Program in Quantitative Genomics at the Harvard School of
Public Health, jointly with the HSPH Department of Biostatistics
and the Department of Biostatistics and Computational Biology at
the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, will host its 8th conference on November 20-21, 2014 at the Joseph B. Martin Conference Center
at Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA.
The conference will be entitled “Integrative Approaches to Understand Allelic Function” and will seek to examine the use of evolutionary functional genomics, statistical genetics, and integrative approaches to understand the function of rare and common human alleles. We will discuss the interdisciplinary challenges of data analysis involved. We seek to engage scientists working in experimental, clinical, and computational epigenomics in a discussion centered on three important topics:
- High-throughput strategies to understand non-coding allelic functions
- Integrative approaches to interpret the function of non-coding alleles
- Integrative approaches to interpret the function of coding alleles
The conference schedule includes time for scientific presentations, as well as a poster session for submitted abstracts.
Three abstracts will be selected for Stellar Abstract Awards and to be presented as 15-minute platform talks. Each of these speakers will receive an award of up to $500 for travel assistance or other conference expenses.
