Overview

Deepali Ravel is a Lecturer at Harvard Medical School and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, where she serves as Director of Education for the cross-school Graduate Program in Bacteriology and Infectious Diseases Consortium.

Deepali’s core interest is in teaching science as a tool for promoting health equity and justice. In her graduate education role, she teaches microbiology and infectious diseases courses, designs and evaluates curriculum, advises students, and leads diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives related to course content and department culture. Deepali is also committed to broadening access to science careers for youth from communities that face health injustices and has worked closely with local programs like the HMS-based Health Professions Recruitment and Exposure Program as well as national initiatives like the CDC Science Ambassador Fellows program.
