Overview

Dr. Gillian Christie, DrPH MPhil, has focused her career on promoting health at the intersection of business and technology. She is currently advancing the health strategy for consumers at Walmart Health. She also has an appointment as an Adjunct Lecturer in Health Policy and Management at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Gillian has advised several leading institutions such as Intermountain Healthcare (Utah Alliance for the Determinants of Health), the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (Building a Culture of Health), and the Bloomberg-Harvard City Leadership Initiative (Denver Mayor's Office). Gillian was previously at the Vitality Institute (part of the South African insurer, Discovery) in New York City.

Gillian is an active thought leader and speaker at events, including those convened by the World Economic Forum, OECD, and the US National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. She is a Fellow of the Salzburg Global Seminar and a contributing author to The Lancet and Rockefeller Foundation’s Commission on Planetary Health.

Dr. Christie received a Doctor of Public Health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, a Master’s (MPhil) from the University of Cambridge’s Judge Business School, and a MA (Hons) from the University of St Andrews in Scotland. Gillian was born and raised in Toronto, Canada.
