Balancing family and work
The certificate curriculum is rigorous and requires a good deal of out-of-class work. You will be expected to keep up with this work and participate in class discussions, so you should schedule dedicated study time as you would other daily commitments.

There are no kitchens within the suites, but there is a community kitchen on the 3rd floor, as well as a small fitness room, a laundry room, and pool table/lounge area. For the Tree House, a single-occupancy bedroom within a shared suite is $360 per person per week and $60 per person per night. Linen rental is also available for a one-time cost of $15 per set. Each set includes a fitted and top sheet, pillow and pillowcase, a light summer blanket, two towels, and a facecloth.
To reserve a room, please contact Jennifer Juliano via email at JJuliano@cocm.com. In your email, please indicate the dates you would like to stay and whether you would like to include linen rental.
On occasion, students find summer sublets from students at the School who are out of town for the summer. Check out the options through the School’s Housing Office. In addition, several short-term housing options may be available.
Participants are responsible for their own travel arrangements to and from Boston, as well as their travel while on campus. The closest airport is Boston Logan International Airport. Allow an hour’s travel time between the airport and campus.
The Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health is located in Boston’s Longwood Medical Area, which includes Harvard Medical School and many local hospitals. The link below provides the School’s exact address, directions to campus, and links to maps and public transportation. We are at the Longwood stop on the Huntington Avenue Green Line (E line.) The closest commuter rail stop is Lansdowne station.
The Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health’s main campus is located at 653, 665, and 677 Huntington Avenue, Boston, Massachusetts. The School’s main buildings for research, teaching, and administration are located in the heart of Boston’s medical area and Harvard University’s Longwood campus.
Parking is scarce in the Longwood Medical Area. It is best to use cabs, a ride-share service, or public transportation to get to campus. Occasionally, participants choose to park at a local hospital’s garage; Boston Children’s Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital are the closest. Contact the hospitals directly for rate information. On Saturday and Sunday, discounted parking is available at the MASCO garage on Longwood Avenue.
For participants who choose to stay in Cambridge, a free shuttle bus, the “M2,” is available to all with a Harvard ID. More information is available at the Masco website.
