Amit Kumar

Amit is a graduate student in the Health Policy and Management Department. His research interests include examining the role that health literacy and social determinants play in health disparities, particularly as they relate to access to healthful foods. He completed his undergraduate studies at UCLA and hopes to attend medical school upon completing his MPH program at Harvard Chan.

Amit’s project focuses on conducting research on the environmental, economic, social, and political determinants of health disparities in the Delta region. He then hopes to leverage both community-level collaborations and initiatives as well as policy to develop innovative solutions to address these issues.
