Degree and Non-Degree Students
The Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) is a benefit offered to eligible Harvard employees. The benefit is offered through Harvard, but the Registrar’s Office is responsible for verifying the enrollment details for TAP students. HSPH students who are eligible to use TAP will need to submit the Harvard Tuition Assistance Program Application (TAP Form) to Benefit Strategies when they enroll in courses, but an electronic copy of the paperwork will also need to be submitted via my.harvard. After each add/drop deadline, the HSPH Registrar’s Office will confirm the TAP student’s enrollment to the Benefits Office.
Instructions for students who want to use TAP benefits at HSPH can be found in the TAP booklet that is distributed by HR. The link to the TAP booklet is available on the HR/Benefits Office site. The deadline for submitting the TAP form is by the add/drop deadline for the Registrar’s Office. Students who are taking non-work-related courses must reach out to the Benefit’s Office (different deadline).

- MPH45 Academic year, Generalist, or Summer-Focused
- MPH 65
- SM1 in Health Policy Management
- SM1, SM60, or SM80 in Biostatistics
- SM80 in Computational Biology and Quantitative Genetics
- SM1 or SM80 in Epidemiology
- SM60 or SM80 in Health Data Science

2023-2024 TAP Budget
- Degree TAP students are responsible for 10% of their tuition based on an equivalent per-credit tuition rate for their degree program for up to 10 credits per term of enrollment.
- Non-degree TAP students, the 10% TAP tuition fee is based on the current academic year’s non-degree per-credit tuition rate.
- Sometimes there are tax implications associated with using TAP benefits. Students who have questions about the tax implications should speak with the Benefits Office.
