Proposal Development Timelines

ORSD provides a number of grant proposal development supports for Harvard Chan faculty whose research operations are based at the School.  These services are provided at no cost to faculty and include:

  • External Review Services: External content experts are hired to review your NIH grant proposal and provide detailed feedback on the strengths, weaknesses and competitiveness of your proposal;
  • Editing Services: Scientific copy editors trained in grant writing are hired to edit your grant proposal before final submission to the sponsor
  • Graphic Design Services: Internal/external designers partner with faculty to develop graphics to illustrate key points in proposals.

If you are developing or planning to develop a grant proposal and you are interested in retaining external review, editing, and/or graphic design services, please contact ORSD as soon as possible.  We will work with you to determine a proposal development timeline to incorporate these services and facilitate the proposal development process.

The following timeline provides general guidelines and timing considerations for the incorporation of review feedback. Please visit SPA’s Proposal Development page for more information on SPA deadlines.
