Applications are CLOSED for the Taplin Fund. The next award cycle will be announced in the Fall of 2017.
The Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health Taplin Equipment Fund is sponsored through generous funding from the Taplin Family. This program provides funds for instrumentation expenses that may be difficult to fund through other mechanisms. Applications of any amount up to $50,000 will be accepted for equipment purchases, investment in shared technology, and related implementation expenses (e.g., cost of technical training, equipment maintenance, and technical consulting fees).
We encourage faculty members to collaborate within and across departments to develop proposals for shared equipment and facilities, and to leverage other funding opportunities whenever possible. Although departmental matching funds are not required, we encourage interested faculty to contact their Department Chairs to discuss the proposed equipment investments and any departmental resources that may be leveraged to support the equipment purchase.
Please refer to the Taplin Equipment Fund Request for Applications (RFA) for additional details on eligibility criteria, proposal requirements and award information.
