Current Limited Submission Opportunities

Each year a number of federal and non-federal funders announce funding opportunities and awards for which the school or university is either restricted to submit a limited number of applications or is required to endorse nominees. Nominees must be internally screened and selected to apply for these opportunities.

The Limited Submission Opportunities listed below are divided into the following three categories:
Closed: Harvard Chan nominee has been selected
Active Internal Competitions: Currently Accepting Applications/Notices of Intent
Open for Nomination: The Notice of Intent deadline has expired and a Harvard Chan nominee has not yet been identified.

Internal deadline: March 19, 2024
Sponsor deadline: June 12, 2024 (mentor and reference letters); July 3, 2024 application
The William T. Grant Scholars Program supports career development for promising early-career researchers. The program funds five-year research and mentoring plans that significantly expand researchers’ expertise in new disciplines, methods, and content areas. The Foundation supports research in two distinct focus areas: 1) Reducing inequality in youth outcomes; and 2) Improving the use of research evidence in policy and practice. Proposed research must address questions that align with one of these areas. The Harvard Chan School can nominate one applicant for this award.  If you are interested in applying, you must submit a brief Notice of Intent including PI name, department, and a brief (1-2 sentence) description of the proposed project to the Office of Research Strategy and Development (alever@hsph.harvard.edu) no later than March 19, 2024. Based on the number of notices received, we will determine whether an internal competition is needed.
