Safety measures at Harvard Chan School

Harvard Chan School has taken significant measures in our buildings to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Soon after Harvard went remote in March 2020, we began consulting with Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) at Harvard University as well as our own faculty experts. Consequently, the School upgraded its ventilation systems to standards that go well beyond those that are recommended by EH&S and the standards of other building experts. In addition to increasing air filtration and enhancing ventilation, we invested in portable air purification devices through our buildings and classrooms, out of an abundance of caution.

The School also undertook an enhanced cleaning of all its buildings over the past year. Since we went remote we’ve continued to clean on a regular basis in anticipation of the start of the academic year. Cleaning is now back on a normal schedule and is occurring throughout all of our buildings. And you’ll find plenty of hand sanitizer and wipes across campus.
