Harvard Opinion Research Program – In 1989 the Harvard School of Public Health launched the first academic program on public opinion and health policy. In 1995 the program expanded to include a broader range of social policy issues in collaboration with researchers at the John F. Kennedy School of Government. The decision to develop the Harvard Opinion Research Program came from the belief that improvements in health and social welfare hinge on understanding and responding to the powerful influence that public and leadership opinion has in shaping policy decisions.
