Dr. Nancy Krieger, Professor of Social Epidemiology, has recently authored “COVID-19, Data, and Health Justice” in The Commonwealth Fund and co-authored “The Fierce Urgency Of Now: Closing Glaring Gaps In US Surveillance Data On COVID-19” in Health Affairs.
In both publications, Dr. Krieger raises concerns about the lack of population health data regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. Particularly in the Health Affair’s blog post, Drs. Krieger, Mary T. Bassett, and others call on The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to mandate a uniform digital form for all COVID-19 testing and surveillance.
