Sukanya (she/her) graduated from Bates College in 2020 with a BA in Psychology and Theater. She completed her senior thesis on “Bureaucratic Representation and its Effect on the Rate of Female-Identifying Students Reporting Sexual Assault on College Campuses”​, and presented the findings to the Title IX office at Bates College. Her thesis experience, combined with her experience in Gwalior, India founding the project “Kamna” and holding workshops on managing hygiene during periods, preparing free hygiene kits for women and managed the selling of handmade item​s produced by the women of this village, led to her passion for women’s sexual and reproductive health. As a research assistant for the Women’s Health Study: From Adolescence to Adulthood, Sukanya is responsible for working with adolescent and adult women enrolled in the study, processing biological samples, and answering any questions that participants and their families may have. Outside of work, she likes to read, audition for theater shows, watch theater shows, write monologues, volunteer in the community, and do Kathak (Indian classical dance) and Bollywood dance.
