Well-Being Activities

Our daily routines are changing, and we will be sitting in front of our laptops for most of the day. Considering this, HCSA is looking to support students to stay healthy during our shift toward a more sedentary lifestyle and to provide with opportunities to engage each other. We hope you enjoy the content and continue to provide us with inspiration for future content – the content below is sourced from our community! If you are interested in partnering together with HCSA to put together a workout routine, submit a healthy recipe or share resources with other students, please use this link to provide your information and ideas!

Quarantine Cooking Thoughts:

During these difficult times, consider how you can best use your socially-distant kitchen time to be a refuge. The concept of escapism cooking, coined by author Mandy Lee, is the idea that cooking can be a “delicious evasion of unpalatable realities.” She continues: “As much as I would like to say that I cook to make other people happy, I don’t. Truth is, I cook largely to make myself happy, as medication, as therapy. If you ask me, the most important thing in learning how to cook is not the techniques but how to harness curiosity and fulfillment from the process, the puzzles and the answers, the failures and the triumphs, the hunt. It’s a deeply personal, ever-evolving, solitary sport.”
