Dr Sudha Ramalingam is a Fulbright Visiting Scientist from India at the Exposure, Epidemiology and Risk program. Presently, she is affiliated to Dr Andrea Baccarelli’s lab.Dr Ramalingam completed her postdoctoral fellowships at Stanford School of Medicine in Molecular Genetics and at the University of Chicago in Genetic Epidemiology in addition to a fellowship in Medical Education by FAIMER. She holds an MD in Community Medicine and a Postgraduate Diploma in Bioethics.She is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Community Medicine and the PSG Center for Molecular Medicine at PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Coimbatore India. She also heads the Office of Human Research Administration at her medical school.
Her main areas of research interests include studying the role of Environmental Toxicants in Noncommunicable Diseases particularly Type 2 diabetes Mellitus, Breast Cancer and Childhood Obesity and the epigenetic mechanisms involved. She has three Nationally and Internationally funded projects to study these in the Indian population.
