Japan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (JPMA) Financial Support
We are pleased to announce a commitment from The Japan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (JPMA) to completely support the participation of a Takemi Fellow from low-income countries in the Takemi Program in International Health. The JPMA has been a longtime supporter of the Takemi program on an annual basis, and is making this additional gift in honor of the program’s 30th anniversary, supported by the special committee headed by Dr. Yoshitake Yokokura, President of the Japan Medical Association. The JPMA contribution will come from its member pharmaceutical companies committed to conducting research on drug development, and supporting efforts combatting diseases across the globe.
The new contribution from the JPMA will enable the Takemi Program to reach out to highly qualified mid-career health professionals from low-income countries facing major health care challenges. By doing so, the JPMA helps the Takemi Program further its mission: to facilitate research on the problems of mobilizing, allocating, and maintaining limited resources to improve health.
The funding will provide financial support to one Takemi Fellow per year. Candidates should indicate their interest in JPMA funding support in the online application. After our selection process is complete, we will assess eligibility for the Fellowships, selecting up to one JPMA funded Fellow (from the candidates chosen to participate in the Takemi Program that year).
