Carmenza Bruff

Carmenza received a BS in Human Services/Community Organizing from Springfield College, and was enrolled in the MA in Education/Integrated Studies at Cambridge College.

Carmenza has been in cancer prevention approximately 20 years. Prior to joining the Viswanath lab, she worked in Colombia, at the Instituto Nacional de Cancerología (National Institute for Cancerology). Carmenza has been at the Viswanath Lab for the last 10 years and has played an integral role in several community- based projects including PLANET MassCONECT, Project IMPACT, Project CLEAR, Mass HINTS and the UMassBoston, as well as the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center U54 Outreach Core.

Carmenza works closely with the City of Lawrence Mayor’s Health Task, a public health coalition, and other community groups in Lawrence, MA. In her capacity as Community Outreach Program Coordinator, she is responsible for maintaining collaborative relationships with Community Based Organizations, to deliver various levels of capacity building trainings/workshops, as part of the lab’s effort to build social capital in partner communities.
