R. Gil Kerlikowske is the former Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), having been nominated by President Obama and confirmed by the Senate in March, 2014.  When he left office in January 2017, he was the only confirmed CBP Commissioner during President Obama’s administration. He is now currently an IOP Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
