Clara Pons Duran

Clara is a postdoctoral fellow for the HaSET team. She is focused on study design, data analysis, implementation and capacity building. Before joining the team, she finished her PhD on maternal health in sub-Saharan Africa at the University of Barcelona (Spain). From 2015 to 2021, she worked in the Maternal, Child and Reproductive Health Initiative of the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) as junior epidemiologist and predoctoral fellow. There, she carried out projects on epidemiology and control of malaria in pregnancy, and inequalities of maternal health in women and adolescents from sub-Saharan Africa. In parallel, she also collaborated in clinical trials on malaria in pregnancy in Africa, and on COVID-19 during pregnancy in Spain. 

She studied Biomedical Sciences at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and she holds a master’s degree in Clinical Research (International Health track) from the University of Barcelona.
