Christy Denckla, PhD, MA

Dr. Christy Denckla is Assistant Professor of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and a licensed clinical psychologist. Her work, supported by an early career K23 award from NIMH, aims to understand how adversity affects mental health and well-being across the lifespan, with a particular focus on bereavement and adaptive processes. An emerging focus of her research addresses mental health and climate change.

Dr. Denckla earned her PhD from Adelphi University in New York. She completed her predoctoral clinical training at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and her postdoctoral fellowship in Epidemiology at Harvard Chan under the mentorship of Dr. Karestan Koenen.
