Research Associate

  • Are you a doctoral-trained social science researcher with at least two years of field experience directly involved with health system-level policy and reform in India? Join our team as a Research Associate, a senior-level researcher who will contribute substantially to research and reform related to India’s current health system-level performance challenges. Content may include urban health, non-communicable diseases, citizen satisfaction, provider quality of care, financial barriers to access, and prescription behaviors of health providers. There is a special focus on the interactions between public and private parts of the health system, including the mix of providers as well as the source of financing. The Research Associate may also contribute to capacity building and training activities in areas of expertise. Familiarity with the “Control Knob” (Roberts et al.) framework for health system assessment and reform is preferred.
  • The level and title of the position will depend on the candidate’s degree earned and years of research experience, such as Research Assistant (master’s), Post-Doctoral Research Fellow (doctorate), or Research Associate (doctorate plus more than two years’ research experience).

Research Assistant (Full-time Staff)

  • Do you have training in public health or social science fields such as economics, sociology, or political economy? Do you have 2+ years of work experience analyzing health system performance or implementing health policy reform projects including policies around access, quality, and costs of health care at state or national levels?
  • Join our team as a Research Assistant, who will develop cases and other research products related to current health system-level performance challenges in India. Examples may include urban health, non-communicable diseases, citizen satisfaction, provider quality of care, financial barriers to access, and prescription behaviors of health providers. There is a special focus on the interactions between public and private sectors of the health system, including the mix of providers as well as the source of financing.
