Project Summary: This study aims to identify the multilevel contributors to housing-related cancer screening disparities and then adapt an evidence-based patient navigation program to help mitigate these disparities within a Federally Qualified Health Center serving people experiencing homelessness. Guided by the Health Equity Implementation Framework, the team will conduct qualitative interviews with unhoused patients and internal and external staff, including health center care team members, administrative leaders, and community partners. Through these interviews, the team will seek to better understand the drivers of cancer screening disparities related to housing status and probe for specific ways in which patient navigation could be adapted to address these disparities. Next, the team will engage stakeholders to co-design an adapted patient navigation intervention to improve cancer screening completion among unhoused patients.
