October 31, 2024 – Members of the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health community indulged in some Halloween fun leading up to the holiday.

Events included:

  • Students gathered to paint mini pumpkins in Kresge Atrium on Oct. 28, in an event organized by the Office for Student Affairs Student Services Assistant team.
  • Department of Environmental Health (EH) members held an event titled “The Great Halloween Bake Off and Costume Contest,” with a Harry Potter theme.
  • Members of various labs from the Department of Molecular Metabolism (MET), wearing costumes with themes ranging from Ghostbusters to Game of Thrones, posed for photos in the FXB Atrium. They then headed off to the Puddingstone Tavern in Mission Hill for more Halloween fun.

According to Brendan Manning, acting MET chair, this was the department’s twentieth annual Halloween party. MET didn’t take a break from festivities even during COVID lockdown, opting in 2020 to hold a virtual Halloween gathering with costumes. “It is important for members of our department to see the human side of their colleagues and to make space for them to express their creativity and have their nerdom on display,” Manning said.
