Emilie Koum Besson

Health economist

Emilie Koum Besson is a health economist with a wider breadth of experience in health in complex humanitarian emergencies, geospatial analytics, pharmaceutical systems strengthening and human resources for health policies.​ She is also a scholar activist working to advance gender equity and anti-racism in health science, promote ethical and decolonial research practices and bridge the gap between researchers, policy makers and communities, especially in Africa. In 2022 she led the work to develop a toolkit to introduce anti-racism and decoloniality in global public health studies and published other manuscript on colonial legacies in global public health research.
