The Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health is pleased to introduce an innovative global public health leadership program for national chief nurses, midwives, regulators, professional nursing and midwifery association executives, and academic deans and faculty across Africa who are seeking advanced education and training in global public health and leadership skills.

Nurse-led strategies with a curriculum for leadership

The Harvard Global Public Health for Nurse Leaders Certificate program builds on Harvard’s unparalleled expertise in education and experience in leadership programming with curricula and educational materials that align with World Health Organization’s (WHO) goals in its 2020 State of the World’s Nursing report and the  WHO Global Strategic Directions for Nursing and Midwifery 2021-2025 (adopted via Resolution WHA74.15) .

Strengthening global nursing and midwifery is critical as demand grows for solutions to acute problems such as health worker shortages, workplace equity, and future pandemics. Through the Global Public Health for Nurse Leaders Certificate Program, nurse and midwife leaders will gain the skills and know-how to strengthen their country’s health systems, improve and manage population health, and generate key regulatory reforms.
