– Q & A –

What is your background/experience prior to entering the program?

After initial medical training, I served three military-operational tours and two combat deployments as an Air Force Flight Surgeon, followed by clinical work in private practice.

Why/how did you become interested in Occupational Health?

Employment and health are intertwined. In addition to the traditional bidirectional causation between health and employment, the workplace is a fantastic space to implement health-promoting interventions. This opportunity is underutilized, straightforward, and high-value, and I seek to unleash it.

What is your current involvement in Occupational Health?

My cohort just began our MPH year at HSPH, augmented with OEM didactics and clinical training at CHA.

What are your future career plans/goals?

Join a civilian industry, learn the ins and outs of their culture, and unveil opportunities to improve both the workers and the workplace, while advancing employer-based health optimization to define the future standard of delivery.

What are your current or past Pilot Projects?

Accident investigations, helicopter injury prevention, fatigue/circadian management, motorcycle morbidity prevention, organizational performance.
