What is your background/experience prior to entering the program?
I completed my BA degree at UC Berkeley in Integrative Biology with a minor in Global Public Health and a certificate in Entrepreneurship and Technology (Industrial Engineering and Operations Research). Upon graduation, I worked in healthcare consulting for two years followed by one year as a Research Data Analyst at UCSF.
Why/how did you become interested in Occupational Health?
As an Undergraduate Research Assistant at UC Berkeley’s Interdisciplinary Center for Healthy Workplaces, I became interested in Occupational Health after conducting an experiment using real-world biological data to study the effect of habitat soundscaping on knowledge workers’ productivity, stress levels, and work experience.
What are your future career plans/goals?
After completing my Master of Science in Biostatistics, I hope to pursue a PhD in Statistics or Biostatistics.
