What is your background/experience prior to entering the program?

Graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine in 2013, and joined the Navy through the Health Professions Scholarship Program. I served 3 tours as Naval Flight Surgeon with Marines at MCAS Yuma, AZ, and Carrier Air Wing and Strike Fighter Training Squadron in NAS Oceana, Virginia with deployments to Japan and the Arabian Gulf.

Why/how did you become interested in Occupational Health?

As I was a flight surgeon I had a strong interest in Aerospace Medicine, and considered getting Occ Med later, but as it turns out, most of what I did on a regular basis was more Occupational Medicine. After a fortuitous meeting with an alumnus of this program, I was convinced this was the way to go.
