Mr. Dickens is the Director of the Invest EAP Centers for Wellbeing in Vermont, a public employee assistance and workplace health organization. He is a Licensed Psychologist-Master. Mr. Dickens has directed many of the Centers’ innovative programs, including Farm First, a program to address farmer stress, and EAPFirst, a program to improve the health and well-being and prevent PTSD amongst first responders. He is currently helping to lead a project with several national organizations to create a stress assistance network for farmers for the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s 13 northeastern states; a Department of Justice project to create a peer support network for first responders in Vermont; a CDC project to reduce rural suicide, and a Department of Labor research demonstration project evaluating new approaches to facilitate the successful return to work of injured and ill workers. He has directed previous research studies that have demonstrated the effectiveness of screening and intervention for behavioral risk factors to improve health outcomes and reduce healthcare costs.
