The Center for Climate, Health, and the Global Environment at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health (Harvard Chan C-CHANGE) and Putney Pre-College, an initiative of Putney Student Travel, hosted another year of youth summer programming on climate, equity, and health in July 2022.
Students from twenty-five states and nine countries gathered in Boston to learn tangible ways to take climate action. They developed leadership skills and inspired each other to fight for a healthier, more sustainable, and equitable future.
The Harvard Chan C-CHANGE Youth Summit trained students to be leaders in their communities through workshops, field-based activities, and meetings with scientists, health and policy experts, academics, energy innovators, and more.
Empowering Young People to Lead
July 24-30, 2022
High school students gathered in Boston, MA and dove into climate issues related to their interests, strengths, and passions. Students gained perspective from inspiring world leaders, politicians, advocates, scientists, and renewable energy innovators, at the forefront of tackling the climate crisis. Students engaged with the program themes through the lens of their chosen Action Focus group: Climate Communications, Press, & Media, Climate Science, Entrepreneurship, Industry, & Technology, Environmental Justice, Global Health, Epidemiology, & Infectious Disease, Medicine & Healthcare, and Policy & Advocacy.
