Mr. Banks attended Ohio State University majoring in Education and Agricultural and Aeronautical Technologies. He has more than thirty years of experience as a field engineer in ASME N510 testing and consulting for nuclear air and gas treatment systems. He served as site manager and project manager at various nuclear power stations for the startup and acceptance testing programs of the air treatment systems. He performed the first ASME N510-89 acceptance tests invoked by a USA utility. He performed the first AG-1 Acceptance Testing per DOE requirements. He has performed various control room habitability and safe haven studies along with in-leakage testing, filtration system characterizations, and filter testing programmatic reviews. He has provided testing, consulting, and training services to numerous DOE and DOD facilities. He has also consulted and trained various members of the Off Shore nuclear industry in control room habitability testing.

 

Mr. Banks is the primary course developer and course director of NUCON’s ASME/ANSI N510 Testing Workshop both basic and advanced courses. He is the co-author and contributor for various papers presented at the NRC/DOE and ISNATT International Air Cleaning Conferences and at numerous NHUG meetings. He is Qualified Level III per ANSI N45.2.6, NQA-1. He is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), International Society on Nuclear Air Treatment Technologies, (ISNATT), Testing Committee of the Nuclear HVAC Utilities Group (NHUG), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Committee On Nuclear Air and Gas Treatment (CONAGT), Main Committee and Executive Committee member and member of Subcommittee on Testing and Subcommittee on Technology.
