How much does this Certificate of Specialization cost?
There is no set price for the Business Applications for AI in Health Care Certificate of Specialization as those pursuing the certificate will pay for each individual course separately. For the cost of each course, please visit the program pages below:
We recommend that participants begin their certificate journey with AI in Health Care: Concepts and Applications and subsequently take either Innovation with AI in Health Care or Implementing Health Care AI into Clinical Practice. The reason is that AI for Health Care covers more foundational concepts upon which Innovation with AI in Health Care and Implementing Health Care AI into Clinical Practice builds.
However, if you already have a background in artificial intelligence and these program dates do not fit your schedule, you are welcome to reverse the order, but please be aware that if you take Innovation with AI in Health Care or Implementing Health Care AI into Clinical Practice first, some concepts in AI for Health Care will be review for you.
How long do I have to complete the Certificate?
Participants have up to 5 years to complete the Certificate of Specialization. For those who have already completed at least one program, please note that course credit must be obtained within a rolling 5-year window. As of 2024, course credit must be from calendar year 2020 or later to count towards the certificate. The rolling 5-year windows for course credit are as follows:

I took Applied Artificial Intelligence in Health Care previously—does that contribute to the Certificate of Specialization?
Those who have taken Applied Artificial Intelligence for Health Care will receive credit toward the Business Applications for AI in Health Care Certificate of Specialization and need onlytakeInnovation with AI in Health Careto qualify.
Can I take the courses individually?
AI for Health Care: Concepts and Applications, Innovation with AI in Health Care and Implementing Health Care AI Into Clinical Practice can be taken individually, and you will receive a Certificate of Participation for each course. However, to obtain the Certificate of Specialization, you will need to take both courses.
What is the difference between a Certificate of Specialization and Certificate of Participation?
A Certificate of Participation is awarded to participants who complete individual programs at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health Executive and Continuing Professional Education, and a Certificate of Specialization is awarded to those who complete multiple courses in a specific subject area. Both credentials signify a commitment to professional development, and a Certificate of Specialization takes it a step further by showcasing your expertise in several areas of health care leadership.
