Karen Rennell

Karen Rennell is the Director of Renovations at MIT. She leads the Renovations Team in project planning, design, and construction for the Committee for Renovation and Space Planning (CRSP). The CRSP team is responsible for campus space assignments and renovations required to meet the current and future needs of the institute including: Faculty Laboratories, Registrar Classrooms, and Department Offices. Karen and her team of 22 project managers and staff execute an annual $60 Million Construction Program, completing over 100 projects per year. Starting as an intern in 2000, Karen stayed on at MIT after graduation to dedicate her career to the CRSP Renovations team at all project levels. She holds an Masters in Business Administration from UMASS Lowell Manning School of Business, as well as, a BS in Construction Management and AS in Architectural Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology. Karen is a proud mom to three busy teenagers and enjoys spending time with her husband and family, usually on a soccer field!
