Nisha Thakrar, MD

Nisha Thakrar, M.D. is the medical director of the South Boston Community Health Center, Boston, MA and also has her pediatric practice
there. Her prior community health care experience includes both administrative oversight and medical roles at Hudson River Community
Health, Peekskill, NY and clinical practice at Community Health Care, Inc.,Davenport, IA. She also had an assistant professorship at the
University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, New Brunswick, NJ, where she worked for six years
as an attending in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

Dr Thakrar is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She currently
chairs the Clinical Issues Committee of the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers and is on their Executive Board of Directors.
After receiving a B.A. from Wellesley College and an M.D. from Emory University School of Medicine, Dr Thakrar trained in pediatrics at
Children's Hospital of Boston, MA.
