Phyllis Yale is currently the Board Chair of Kindred Healthcare (NYSE: KND), Board Chair of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, and a board member of DaVita Healthcare (NYSE: DVA). Over time she has served on four additional corporate boards (NeighborCare, Inc (NASDAQ), Pediatric Services of America (NASDAQ), privately-held Value Options, Inc, and privately held National Surgical Hospials, Inc. She has also served on a number of non-profit boards, including The Bridgespan Group, The United Way of Massachusetts Bay, Cradles to Crayons, Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts, and others.
She serves on a number of advisory boards, including Alegeus, Inc., the Advisory Board for the HBS Healthcare Initiative, and the Executive Council of the Health Policy Management Department at the Harvard Chan School of Public Health.
Phyllis Yale is an Advisory Partner in Bain & Company’s Boston office. She joined the firm in 1982 and was elected to the partnership in 1987. Ms. Yale has been a leader in building Bain’s health care practice for 30 years. Over her career she has worked with health care payers and with providers across the continuum of care, and she frequently advises the world’s leading private equity firms on their investments in the health care sector. Ms. Yale was awarded a Lifetime Achievement award by Consulting Magazine, and was named by Working Mother magazine as one of the top 25 working mothers. She has published articles in the Harvard Business Review and in Vivo, among other publications, and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences, including The World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos.
She earned an AB from Harvard in Economics, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
