A graduate of the University of Maryland, Uri is a registered Architect and LEED accredited professional with nearly 40 years of experience. His career has focused on the planning and design of research facilities for institutional, corporate, and university clients throughout the country and abroad. As a nationally recognized laboratory planner, he has lectured at forums sponsored by NIH, AAALAC, USUHS, CDC, and other leading research institutions. 

 

He has a specific expertise in the design of biocontainment facilities, providing technical support and peer design review for major laboratories and vivaria constructed throughout the country. He served as a contributor to the NIH/CDC Biosafety in Microbiological and Biomedical Laboratories (BMBL) manual, and chaired the architectural committee for the 2016 update of the NIH Design Requirements Manual, considered to be the gold standard for laboratory design in the US.
