A Proposed New Strategy for Occupational Exposure Assessment for Airborne Contaminants

Presenter: Gurumurthy Ramachandran, PhD, CIH, Professor and Deputy Chair, Department of Environmental Health and Engineering, Director, Johns Hopkins Education and Research Center for Occupational Safety and Health, Bloomberg School of Public Health, Johns Hopkins University

Learning Objectives: Participants will be able to 1) describe the limitations of the 1977 NIOSH exposure assessment strategy; 2) discuss the AIHA and British-Dutch strategies in terms of their differences; 3) analyze the performance of an exposure assessment strategy using performance curves; 4) describe the proposed strategy; and to 5) explain the advantages of the proposed strategy over the existing strategies.
