Professor Winnie Yip, Director of the China Health Partnership at HSPH, and Professor William Hsiao visited Peking University. Professor Ling Li from the China Center for Health Development at Peking University hosted a discussion titled “Health care reform in China: global perspective and local practice”, featuring the two professors. During the discussion, two professors shared their insights on the governance structure of China’s health care system and their concerns about governance structure’s fragmented status quo. Participants had an in-depth discussion of the “Sanming Model” and prospect of the “Two Invoices” system on reducing pharmaceutical expenditures. During the discussion, Professor Yip and Professor Hsiao also empathized the importance of quality improvement in designing payment reforms.
