Harvard Chan School signed an MOU with Meridian Medical Network Corp to explore AI opportunities in enhancing care delivery in China

Artificial intelligence (AI) – assisted diagnosis and treatment tools for doctors in village, township, and community health centers—offers great potential to improve care quality, accessibility, and affordability in China. Recognizing the world-changing potential of this innovation in health care delivery, the China Health Partnership signed an MOU with Meridian Medical Network Corp, aiming to pilot test and evaluate how AI supported technologies can scale these health care improvements locally and globally.

Founded in 2010, Meridian specializes in big data science and artificial intelligence (AI) engine applied to health care. Appointed as the technical partner by the National Health Commission, the Health Promotion Foundation and the Chinese Medical Association, Meridian is collecting and analyzing health data from 30 provinces which would contribute to the first White Paper on Chinese Health Population in 2018. Its “Angel Robot” for empowering primary care providers has been piloted in Anhui Province and has received much attention from the national and local governments.

Through this collaboration, both parties will design, implement and evaluate People-Centered Integrated Care models through improved financing and provider payment incentives and the use of big data and AI service platform with the goal to improve quality, efficiency and affordability of health care.
