Candy Magaña, MPA

Candy Magaña, MPA, is a nationally respected health equity leader, practice facilitator, master trainer and public health professional with expertise in capacity building and innovation adoption for healthcare systems and organizations domestically and internationally. Candy currently serves as the Director of Health Equity Innovation, Solutions and Transformation on the Health Equity and Social Impact team at Humana Inc. In this role she leads a workstream dedicated to enterprise health equity innovation, employee and clinician learning and capacity building, including establishing health literacy as a key pillar to improving the patient experience and quality of care. Prior to this, Candy served as the Director of the Center for Primary Care Innovation and Transformation at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and has also held roles at Blue Shield of California, Rubicon MD and the Center for Excellence in Primary Care at University of California, San Francisco. Candy completed her undergraduate studies in public health at the Johns Hopkins University and holds a Master of Public Administration from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. She currently resides in Columbus, Ohio with her husband and is the proud daughter of immigrant parents from the Philippines and Mexico.
