Rachel Plummer

My name is Rachel and I’m a second year MPH-65 in Nutrition student at Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health. I have been a research assistant with Dr. Kenney since fall 2021 and have worked on several different projects, including a qualitative investigation of weight stigma and body image in high school students, a qualitative investigation on how school administrators make health programming choices, a systematic review of the effect of CACFP on children’s health, and a study on sugar-sweetened beverage tax and marketing to children. At Harvard Chan, I’m also a trainee at the Strategic Training Initiative for the Prevention of Eating Disorders (STRIPED), where I have been working on advocacy efforts surrounding MA legislation to ban body size discrimination. My areas of interest include eating disorders and body image, weight stigma, food insecurity, and policies to improve healthy food access. When I’m not working or studying, I love to dance, cook, and play with my 10 year old pet chinchilla!
