Laurie Glimcher named new head of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute

Laurie Glimcher, formerly the Irene Heinz Given Professor of Immunology at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, has been named the next president and CEO of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Glimcher, who has served as dean of Weill Cornell Medical College since 2012, will begin her new role in January 2017.

Glimcher is an immunologist who is widely regarded for her cancer research. She recently discovered a critical signaling pathway in tumor cells and immune responses that will translate into a new approach to cancer immunotherapy.
