Focusing on creativity, innovation at Lunch ’n’ Learn Program

Lunch-n-learn
Comedian Matthew McMahan speaks to staff

Guest speaker Matthew McMahan, a comedian and assistant director of the Center for Comedic Arts at Emerson College, used interactive games to help a group of staff at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health better learn how to trust their instincts, take risks, and build from the ideas of others at a Lunch ’n’ Learn workshop on September 27, 2018.

The program serves underrepresented minority staff committed to the School’s goals of developing an open and inclusive environment. The organization aims to develop community; promote creativity, innovation, and learning; and foster personal and professional growth. The theme of this year’s workshops is “Unleashing Creativity and Innovation.”

Under the direction of Betty Johnson, assistant dean for faculty and staff diversity, development and leadership, the once-a-month program is open to all underrepresented minority staff at Harvard Chan School.

The next Lunch ’n’ Learn meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 24 in Kresge 110 from 1 to 2:15 pm, and includes lunch. Johnson will discuss the book Originals by Adam Grant. Interested in attending? Email Johnson at bljohnso@hsph.harvard.edu.
