CCDD ID Epi Spring Seminar Series

Talk title: What do SARS-CoV-2 genomes tell2028 us about the pandemic spread?

Presenter: Dr. Tanja Stadler, Associate Professor at the Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zürich).

Tanja is a member of the Swiss National COVID-​19 Science Task Force. Tanja studied Applied Mathematics at the Technical University of Munich (Germany), the University of Cardiff (UK), and the University of Canterbury (New Zealand). She obtained a Master degree in 2006 and a PhD in 2008 from the Technical University of Munich (with Prof. Anusch Taraz and Prof. Mike Steel). Tanja then joined ETH Zürich as a postdoctoral researcher with Prof. Sebastian Bonhoeffer in the Department of Environmental Systems Sciences, and was promoted to Group Leader in 2011. In 2014, she moved to the Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering as an Assistant Professor where she obtained tenure in 2017.

About the series: Each spring, CCDD hosts an annual seminar series featuring talks from experts on the latest research in infectious disease epidemiology and modeling. The ID Epi Seminar Series aims to bring in speakers from various disciplines within infectious disease epidemiology, broadly defined to include the population biology of pathogens and other allied topics. Seminars will be held on Thursdays at 1pm ET between February 11th and May 6th with the exception of March 18th. Recordings of presentations will be made publicly available each week.
